Pendulum Guild ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

When you use Pendulum, we collect the following types of information:

• Your college email address used for registration and verification
• Profile information such as your name, branch, year, and skills that you choose to provide
• Activity data including posts, messages, achievements, and points earned within the app
• Device information including your device token for push notifications

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve the Pendulum platform and its features
• Verify your college identity and maintain platform integrity
• Send you push notifications for messages, events, and updates you have opted into
• Calculate leaderboard rankings and guild statistics
• Communicate with you about your account or support requests

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your information may be shared with:

• Other users of the platform as part of normal app functionality such as your name and profile on leaderboards and posts
• Service providers we use to operate the platform including MongoDB Atlas for database hosting and OneSignal for push notifications

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on MongoDB Atlas servers. We use industry standard practices including password hashing and JWT authentication to protect your account. However no system is completely secure and we encourage you to use a strong password.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@pendulumapp.in and we will process your request within 7 business days.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Pendulum after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By downloading or using Pendulum, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using the platform.

1. Eligibility

Pendulum is intended for students currently enrolled at supported colleges in India. You must use a valid college email address to register. By creating an account you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Pendulum only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Post content that is abusive, hateful, or harassing towards other users
• Share false or misleading information about yourself or your achievements
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or backend systems
• Use the platform to spam other users with unsolicited messages
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your college affiliation

3. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on Pendulum. By posting content you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you share.

4. Achievements and Points

Points and achievements on Pendulum are for gamification purposes only. They hold no monetary value and cannot be redeemed or transferred. We reserve the right to adjust point balances in cases of abuse or system errors.

5. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or misrepresent their identity. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

6. Platform Availability

Pendulum is currently in beta and provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will do our best to communicate significant changes in advance.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Pendulum and its creators are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Your use of Pendulum is at your own risk.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Pendulum after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
